What you will practise
Connect field observations with climate literacy, practise group facilitation and discuss how these experiences might inform your teaching, workplace or community programs. Learning happens through activities, conversation and reflection with the guides and group.
Learning in the Suncoast
Suncoast Adventures brings local knowledge to the course. Marine environments, food systems and community projects provide practical examples for discussing environmental change and community responses.

Meet your educators
Your Lead Educator: Jeff Willis – Founder, CEO & Adventure Architect of Fireside Adventures
Jeff Willis founded Fireside Adventures and brings more than 30 years of experience in outdoor education, youth leadership and environmental learning in Canada and internationally.
On this course he works with local educators to connect outdoor skills with climate learning and group facilitation. Workshops explore marine and land environments, cultural perspectives and ways to bring field learning into schools, workplaces and community programs.
Suncoast Conservationist and South Pacific Outdoor Skills Instructor: Daniel Gray
Daniel Gray grew up on the northern coast of Viti Levu and works with Fireside’s educator team through Suncoast Adventures. His teaching draws on his knowledge of the Bligh Water, fishing, freediving, food preparation and outdoor skills.
He connects activities on the reef and shore to discussions about ocean health, food security and community life. Cooking, shelter building, fire skills and navigation provide opportunities to learn through practical tasks and conversation.
Bring the learning home
Use the course to gather ideas for your own teaching, facilitation or community work. Reflection with the group helps connect the activities to the settings where you work.
Discuss the course demands and your learning goals with us before booking. The team can explain the current itinerary, accommodation and certification arrangements.
