Like everywhere in Yukon, you’ll be surrounded by pristine wilderness, trusty guides and, most importantly, the best company you could ask for. What a way to recharge, re-focus on what is truly important, and give back.
This family and friends adventure experience is flexible and suitable for travellers who want to simply get out on the river with their loved ones and those who want to meet new friends! We’ll cater to your group’s collective and individual outdoor experience and interests while handling the gear, food and logistics.
A shared canoe journey gives families and friends a chance to step out of their usual routines. There are new skills to practise, decisions to make together, and wide-open views that invite a proper conversation. Children can see the adults in their lives learning too, while parents and friends have room to enjoy one another’s company away from everyday distractions.
The rewards are often in the small moments: finding a paddling rhythm with your canoe partner, noticing something along the riverbank, or looking back at the distance you have travelled together. Bring curiosity, a willingness to help, and a sense of humour.

A day on the river
This is an active wilderness experience, with camping and time on the water at its heart. Paddle together, help prepare shared meals, set up camp and learn canoeing and river safety with your guides.
The Yukon River is steeped in history, geology, diverse nature and character. It is larger than life, demanding respect and attention while requiring every traveller to “let go and lean in,” as the river is the master teacher and our water highway. It’s magic for those seeking something off the beaten path, filled with history, flowing through an abundance of wildlife while winding through the heart of Yukon.
With guidance from our experienced instructors, the Yukon River is suitable for beginner paddlers. We’ll provide a quick paddling and river safety introduction before we take off. Daily plans respond to weather, river conditions and the group; this is not a fixed schedule of stops.
Getting ready
You do not need to arrive as an expert paddler. Our guides introduce paddling and river safety before departure, and the trip is best suited to people who have already enjoyed a few camping experiences.
Use the packing list and pre-trip Zoom meeting to prepare, and tell us about your group’s experience and questions. With equipment, river meals and guiding arranged, you can focus on the adventure you are sharing.
