A next step that feels possible

You want more independence, good people around you and something to look forward to. But choosing what comes next can feel overwhelming. Gen Z Plus offers young adults a place to start: small-group adventures, meaningful experiences and people who take time to get to know you.

You do not need a university plan, a confident travel history or everything figured out. Bring your interests, your questions and a willingness to try.

Is Gen Z Plus for you?

Our programmes welcome young adults, including neurodivergent participants, who want to build confidence and connection through real experiences. You might be between school and work, finding your footing after a difficult transition, or ready to travel with more support than an independent trip offers.

For parents, carers and referring professionals: start by telling us what the young adult wants, what helps them thrive and where support is needed. We discuss suitability together before registration. Each programme has its own age range and support arrangements.

What does the Plus mean?

People who know you

A conversation before you choose a programme helps us understand your goals, strengths and support needs. Our adventures combine experienced guides, mentoring and opportunities to practise being part of a group.

Independence through doing

Sharing responsibilities, preparing meals, navigating unfamiliar places and making decisions with others create everyday opportunities to develop practical confidence.

Purpose and connection

Outdoor adventure, cultural exchange and community experiences give you something to contribute to and people to share it with. We will explain the support available on your chosen programme, including any additional coaching options and costs.

How to get started

  1. Have a conversation. Tell us what you would like to change or experience. Family members or a support person can join.

  2. Choose a suitable starting point. We discuss the group, activities, practical demands, support and costs before you decide.

  3. Prepare and take part. Meet the team, ask questions and set a few personal goals. Then put them into practice through your programme.

  4. Build on the experience. Discuss your next step, whether that is another adventure, mentoring or working towards your Award.

Something meaningful to work towards

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award

For eligible young adults, the Award offers a recognised personal achievement built around skills, physical activity, service and adventure. It can provide a clear goal and a way to show your commitment and growth, whether or not you are in school or college.

Fireside operates an Open Award Centre. You can talk with us about connecting suitable programme experiences to your Award and the work that continues afterwards. Taking a trip does not automatically complete an Award. We will explain eligibility, requirements, registration fees and support options before you enrol.
