Inlet Adventurers Summer Day Camps for Early Learners (Ages 4–7)
A gentle, joyful start to summer for our youngest adventurers.
Early summer is a special moment for kids. The school year has just wrapped up, routines soften, and curiosity shifts from screens and schedules to our local outdoors. It’s a season of salty air, muddy shoes, sun-warmed rocks, the crunchy sounds of the shoreline, new friendships, and long days that feel wide open.
Fireside Adventures’ Inlet Adventurers Summer Day Camps are designed to meet children right there, easing them into summer with outdoor play, imagination, movement, and a meaningful connection to nature. These early-years camps create a rhythm that feels safe, playful, and exciting, helping young learners transition from school mode into summer mode with confidence and joy.
Days are spent exploring shorelines and forests, parks unique to the Sunshine Coast’s Porpoise Bay Provincial Park. Campers hike, paddle, build, create, cook, laugh, and rest when they need to. The magic happens in the in-between moments: sharing snacks on a log, working together on a fort, spotting a crab at low tide, or proudly showing a new friend something they’ve discovered. Each week also includes a good old-fashioned camp cook-up and a playful Iron Chef challenge; early-summer classics that kids love.
This is childhood, the way it’s meant to feel.

Why Sunshine Coast Families Should Consider Fireside Early Years Summer Day Camp
Outdoor Play with Purpose: Our days blend free play with gentle structure. Activities like fort-building, outdoor cooking, hiking, beach exploration, and imaginative games support teamwork, communication, emotional regulation, and early problem-solving—learned naturally through play.
Small Groups, Big Care: We keep our groups intentionally small, with a 3:1 camper-to-instructor ratio. This allows instructors to give each child the attention they need, support different comfort levels, and maintain a calm, inclusive camp environment.
Local Instructors, Stronger Community: We hire and train local young instructors to co-lead daily adventures, supported by an experienced seasonal supervisor. This mentorship model strengthens community connections while giving campers positive, relatable role models.
Community-Centred and Family-Friendly: Our Early Years camps are designed to be smooth and supportive for families. We assist with carpool coordination and clear communication. Many of our junior instructors are saving toward their own Fireside leadership and cultural education experiences, including upcoming trips to Fiji and Scotland/Ireland—creating a meaningful cycle of learning and mentorship.
High Value, High Impact: For $589 per week, campers enjoy a full week of outdoor play, discovery, and connection. Each day is thoughtfully planned to balance activity, rest, learning, and fun—offering a meaningful early-summer experience for kids and peace of mind for parents.
Invest in your kid to build lifelong connections: This camp is just the first step. Fireside Adventures is based on the Sunshine Coast. Most of our staff started in Kids Camp. While we are a local company, we’re proud to be the engine behind some of the wildest and most ambitious experiences for older youth and Gen Z, such as World Bound Japan and Fiji. We designed our company to have a seamless connection from age 4 all the way to 99. Where will your kid’s Fireside Adventure take them?
Week at a Glance
Perfect for curious kids who love water, creatures, and questions. This week blends beach exploration, simple science, storytelling, and active play in the park, estuary, and shoreline.
Campers learn about tides, marine life, and the Sunshine Coast’s temperate rainforest through hands-on discovery. The week includes fort-building, Iron Chef challenges, waterfall hikes, and a playful treasure hunt inspired by navigation and mapping skills, with stories drawn from local Indigenous perspectives.
Camp Favourite
Temporary terrariums and ocean aquariums. Campers create small habitat displays, then safely return all living creatures to their natural homes at the end of the day.
Why Nature-Based Early Summer Day Camps Matter
For children ages 4–7, time outdoors is not just fun—it’s foundational. Research consistently shows that regular outdoor play in early childhood supports:
Strong social and emotional development
Confidence, independence, and resilience
Physical coordination and healthy risk-taking
Focus, creativity, and problem-solving
A lasting sense of care for the natural world
At Fireside, we see these benefits come to life every day as kids settle in, slow down, and grow more comfortable in their bodies, their friendships, and their surroundings.
We hire outdoor education experts
Our staff aren't just summer staff. They do 100–500 days of urban programming a year with kids in Vancouver and know the city like the back of their hands. They are lead staff from Vancouver Outdoor School’s Fieldschool.
Ethan Barnes – Camp Coordinator
After coordinating last year’s successful kids day camp program, I’m excited for even more fun and adventure this summer!
