St. George’s Urban Summer Adventures
An outside-the-box summer collaboration the puts the adventure back into summer!
St. George’s Urban Summer Adventures is a dynamic summer day camp created in collaboration with St. George’s School. Our goal is to give St. George’s students a play-based, community-immersed, hands-on learning experience that puts the adventure back into summer! Together, St. George’s and Fireside have created two summer camp options that align with the values of exploration, discovery, and play while providing support in a small-group setting from instructors who are present and responsible.
Every kid thrives when they can confidently ride a bike, explore the forest and express their inner creative genius. Yes, our kids need to adventure, expanding their comfort zones and truly getting to know our community outside the comfort of our school walls. No matter which camp you choose, our programming focuses on healthy risk management, physical literacy, social-emotional learning, and skill progression throughout the week (bike and parkour skills).

Forest Parkour & Filmmaking
Move with purpose. Create with intention. Exploring Our Communities
This introductory Parkour and Filmmaking camp (no experience required!) blends physical literacy, healthy risk-taking, and creative storytelling into one action-packed week. It’s a perfect experience for kids who love movement and creativity. It’s a unique blend of physical literacy, creative self-expression, and urban exploration all within UBC and the Pacific Spirit Park area.
While it started as a purely urban sport, Fireside knows that parkour also thrives in natural spaces. Forest Parkour introduces kids to movement through trees, logs, trails, rocks, and uneven terrain. Under the careful intstruction of Fireside staff, campers learn balance, coordination, agility, and risk management as they navigate forested parks and green spaces around St. George's School. Whether your child is brand new to parkour or already vaulting with confidence, all activities are carefully scaled to meet each learner where they’re at!
These weeks emphasize:
Creative movement and flow in natural environments
Risk management, choice and decision making
Confidence-building through progressive challenges
Respect for nature and place-based awareness
Strength, balance, and coordination through play
Principles of filmmaking and photography.
Westside Bike Camp
Ride with confidence. Explore with curiosity. Navigate your community.
The Westside Bike Camp focuses on bike skills, safety, and exploration, helping young riders build confidence while discovering the natural and urban spaces around their school. Campers will enjoy guided rides within the St. George’s School community, exploring the trails and bike paths around UBC, Southlands and other local areas. Campers will learn how to navigate their own backyard and experience the many adventures that await around every corner.
Each day blends guided rides, skill-building games, snack breaks, rest time, and moments for reflection and storytelling. The pace is active but flexible, creating a positive early-summer experience that builds independence and joy. All riding is carefully supervised and paced, with activities scaled to meet each rider where they’re at.
These weeks emphasize:
Bike safety: helmets, awareness, trail and road etiquette
Basic bike maintenance: brakes, tires, chains, and fit
Riding skills: balance, braking, cornering, hills, and group riding
Healthy risk management, decision-making, and confidence
Respect for shared spaces, trails, and the natural environment
Why These Camps Matter
Through this integrated approach, campers develop:
Confidence rooted in real capability
Resilience through manageable challenge
Awareness of body, environment, and others
Creativity and self-expression
Independence balanced with responsibility
Strong relationships with peers and mentors
Supported by attentive instructors, fresh air, movement, and time to simply be kids, campers leave with new skills and a stronger sense of self.
