About Gambier Island and Halkett Bay

 Halkett Bay

Halkett Bay (Provincial Park) s nestled in Howe Sound, on Gambier Island. It is accessible only by boat, and has amazing hiking, scenic views and pristine wilderness. The first time I visited Halkett Bay was on an outdoor education trip at age 15. We slept in tarp tents right near the beach, and it felt like we were a million miles away from any city or town, even though we only had to take a quick 10 minute boat ride over. The forest truly has a special, magical feel to it... And we can’t wait for you to feel it too!

Expedition Safety

It is safer to travel in a group and it is much safer to have guides supporting you regardless of your comfort and outdoor skill level. Our team puts a lot of effort into planning, preparing and most importantly, teaching you how to be safe in the wilderness.

Wilderness Gourmet

 A well-nourished body makes a significant impact
 Wilderness gourmet

A well-nourished body makes a significant impact on a person’s experience in times of physical and/or mental exertion. Participants will learn how to pack for and prepare meals on extended backcountry trips, and how to cook in a “wilderness” kitchen. While on trip we will nourish our bodies with healthy and holistic foods suited to all diets with a menu created by a nutritionist.

“To be whole. To be complete. Wildness reminds us what it means to be human, what we are connected to rather than what we are separate from.” — Terry Tempest Williams

Facts about BC

We have ten mountain ranges that push west from The Rockies in a crowded parade until they fall into the Pacific. Thousand year old trees that deftly divide the light falling on an impossibly green forest floor.
